Job summary

Mid-State Equipment is seeking a part-time mechanic to inspect, disassemble, and assemble components and equipment, performing basic tests and ensuring safe operation. You will report to the Service Manager and work toward improving diagnostics while maintaining a clean, organized shop area.

You will participate in ongoing service training, document work accurately, and assist with additional tasks as directed to support service operations and customer satisfaction.

• Continually develops skills in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and equipment.
• Performs basic testing on all machine systems.

• Reports to Service Manager any additional work required on machines to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Participates in all service training required for skill development.
• Prepares reports and forms related to work assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Follows safety rules and regulations, and uses safe practices.
• Conducts self in a professional manner around customers and employees.
• Performs all other duties as directed by the service manager.

Position Specifics:

Reports to: Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager

Purpose:

Requires minimum supervision with some direction. Performs disassembly and assembly of components. Uses basic testing procedures, repair and rebuilds in the most efficient and safe manner.

Responsibilities:

• Continually develops skis in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and equipment.
• Performs basic testing on all machine systems.
• Works toward improving diagnostic skills on all machine systems.
• Performs all service tasks assigned by Service Manager.
• Reports to Service Manager any additional work required on machines to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Participates in all service training required for the development of skills and knowledge. Utilizes training tapes and manuals provided.
• Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations, and uses safe practices in performing all work assignments.
• Conducts self in the presence of customers and other employees in a manner benefiting the image of the dealership.
• Performs all other duties as directed by the service manager.
