Job summary

Mid-State Equipment - A Full Service John Deere Dealership is seeking a part-time service technician in Jackson, WI. The role involves disassembly, assembly, repair, and basic testing of components with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Under supervision with exposure to service training, you will perform assigned tasks, document reports, and maintain shop tools and cleanliness. This position reports to the Service Manager and requires diligent, hands-on mechanical work.

Qualifications

• Requires basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to perform disassembly/assembly and basic testing on equipment.
• Focus on safety and efficiency while performing service tasks.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, assemble, and repair components and equipment.
• Perform basic testing on machine systems.
• Improve diagnostic skills for machine systems.
• Complete service tasks assigned by the Service Manager.
• Report any additional work needed to ensure operation and safety.
• Participate in service training and use provided manuals and tapes.
• Prepare all reports and forms related to work assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles in good order.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Follow safety rules and conduct yourself professionally with customers and staff.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the service manager.

Position Specifics:

Reports to: Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager

Purpose:

Requires minimum supervision with some direction. Performs disassembly and assembly of components. Uses basic testing procedures, repair and rebuilds in the most efficient and safe manner.

Responsibilities:

• Continually develops skis in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and equipment.


• Performs basic testing on all machine systems.


• Works toward improving diagnostic skills on all machine systems.


• Performs all service tasks assigned by Service Manager.


• Reports to Service Manager any additional work required on machines to ensure proper operation and safety.


• Participates in all service training required for the development of skills and knowledge. Utilizes training tapes and manuals provided.


• Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments in a timely manner.


• Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment and vehicles.


• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.


• Follows all safety rules and regulations, and uses safe practices in performing all work assignments.


• Conducts self in the presence of customers and other employees in a manner benefiting the image of the dealership.


• Performs all other duties as directed by the service manager.
