Job summary

New Earth Residential LLC is seeking a Service Technician to support community operations and maintenance across facilities. This role will report to the Service Supervisor & Community Manager and contribute to a 5-star resident experience.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in business principles, is capable of following detailed instructions, and is willing to work a full-time schedule with potential on-call emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC/R certification preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Proven customer service mindset.
  • Self-motivated with time management skills.
  • Proficient in English; bilingual encouraged.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Available for emergency calls during nights and weekends.
  • Experience supporting residents and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general maintenance in common areas and responds to service requests.
  • Available for on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends.
  • Oversees maintenance of all mechanical systems to preserve property value.
  • Maintains cleanliness of grounds and common areas.
  • Keeps inventory of materials and parts up to date.
  • Supports residents and cooperates with on-site staff and vendors.

Job description

Position: Service Technician

Category: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Supervisor: Community Manager & Service Supervisor

Hours: Typical range of hours is based on the community needs and may require weekends and after hour emergency services. Workdays may be adjusted based on community needs. Full Time: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (average 40 hours).

Physical Demands: Medium work (exerting 50 lbs. of force occasionally), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing. Visual acuity to operate hand tools. Subject to weather.

Drug Screens: Pre-employment, post injury, reasonable suspicion, and possible random screens.

General Summary of Associate Responsibility:
  • To support and assist all aspects of the community operations, while reporting to and acting under the direction of the Service Supervisor & Community Manager.
Preferred Knowledge / Experience / Ability:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, along with a strong foundation in business principles.
  • HVAC/R certification (HVAC & Refrigeration) is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Proven leader committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, and achieve assigned goals.
  • Resourceful problem solver capable of addressing unexpected challenges and adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with on-site staff, residents, supervisors, corporate associates, and vendors.
  • Proficient in English; bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Skilled in tracking and managing inventory of materials and parts.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle chemicals safely.
  • Available for emergency calls during nights and weekends as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to assessing and maintaining community common areas and amenities.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and various internet applications.
Responsibilities:
Residential Standards:
  • Provides support by performing general maintenance duties in common areas.
  • Available for “on-call” responsibilities as needed.
  • Ensures the independent and timely completion of service requests in occupied apartments, in line with established company and property standards.
  • Oversees all aspects of property maintenance, prioritizing resident satisfaction and contributing to occupancy goals.
  • Actively participates in preventive maintenance programs and manages the ongoing repair of all mechanical systems to preserve the property’s value.
  • Maintains cleanliness of grounds and common areas at all times.
  • Takes on additional related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols while completing tasks.
  • Provides courteous and friendly service to residents, ensuring a 5-star experience.
Community Inspections and Quality Assurance Review

Assist and report on inspections and quality assurance review results.
