Job summary

Buckeye Power Sales seeks a Service Technician to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on construction equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, service reports, and field repairs at customer sites, with on-call responsibilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of equipment service experience, and ability to read schematics and manuals. DOT medical card, strong communication, and independent work are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience servicing construction or heavy equipment.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic data.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
• Able to work well unsupervised; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on construction equipment.
• Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive service.
• Repairing or replacing defective components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshooting equipment failures using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Completing service reports, work orders, and maintenance records accurately.
• Performing field service repairs at customer jobsites when required.
• Testing equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
• Following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Our Service Technicians are responsible for:

• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on construction equipment
• Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive service
• Repairing or replacing defective components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• Troubleshooting equipment failures using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
• Completing service reports, work orders, and maintenance records accurately
• Performing field service repairs at customer jobsites when required
• Testing equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety compliance
• Following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Communicating repair needs, timelines, and recommendations to supervisors or customers
• Participating in a 24/7 emergency on-call service for our customers
• Must own hand tools; specialty tools will be provided by the Company or purchased via tool allowance
