Job summary

Independence Realty Trust Inc. is seeking a Service Technician in Irving, TX to perform hands-on maintenance across plumbing, electrical, appliances, and HVAC, ensuring resident homes are safe, functional, and comfortable.

This fast-paced, team-oriented role requires 2+ years of property maintenance experience, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license, with company-paid multi-day training in Tampa and a path to growth, recognition, and stock-based rewards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in property maintenance or related fields.
• EPA I & II and CPO certifications preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally; move items up/downstairs and push/pull up to 200 lbs with equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must attend a company paid, multi-day, out of state training within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC, and more.
• Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas for maintenance needs.
• Assist with apartment turns and unit preparation for new residents.
• Keep tools and maintenance areas organized and safe.
• Adhere to safety procedures and building codes.
• Communicate effectively with residents and team members.
• Assist in after-hours on-call rotation.
• Contribute to a supportive and engaging employment culture.
