Mark-Taylor is hiring a Service Technician in Tempe, AZ to keep our apartment communities running smoothly by handling maintenance repairs and upkeep while delivering five-star service to residents.

Qualifications

• General working knowledge in Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• Previous apartment maintenance, service technician, make-ready, or related experience preferred.
• Adaptable, high-energy, service-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize work orders and manage time across multiple maintenance needs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with residents and team members.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn maintenance/property management software.
• EPA, HVAC, CPO, or other industry certifications preferred.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain adequate supply of make-ready units.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor HVAC, appliance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall issues.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventive maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care and ensure chemical balance and safety.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and inform Manager of Facilities.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service and be available in uniform.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hr.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

In This Role You Will:

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
