Job summary

BoilerMASTERS, Inc. in Pittsboro, IN seeks a mid-level Service Technician – L2 to perform independent field work, install and maintain equipment, and lead small projects while representing the company to customers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational School degree (Or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • At least one year experience in a similar role.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Customer service focused and professional in appearance and communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mechanical aptitude plus intermediate electrical, plumbing and construction experience.
  • Must be able to travel from office throughout Indiana daily and work in varying locations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and desire to learn.
  • Trustworthy and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair customer equipment.
  • Lead jobs and projects.
  • Use hand and power tools daily.
  • Operate tools and machines to cut, thread, drill, lift and other functions.
  • Use water and other methods to flush scale and mud out of equipment.
  • Capable of working with various electronics and controls to program and diagnose.
  • Perform various types of general construction work.
  • Help maintain accurate and complete reports on customer equipment.
  • Enter work orders, purchase orders and other information on web-based database.
  • Complete daily tasks and requirements.
  • Gather, transport and organize materials and tools required for jobs.
  • Maintain equipment, vehicles and stock as required.
  • Provide support in maintaining inventory and shop consumables.
  • Act with urgency to minimize customer down time and understand techniques to expedite equipment functionality when appropriate.

Position Status: Non-Exempt Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Wage: $20 - $30 hourly rate

JOB OVERVIEW

BoilerMASTERS, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated, team player to join our service department. In this mid-level position, you will play an important role in our company’s service operations as the face of the company with our customers. The ideal candidate will perform independent field work, manage small jobs and be competent with hydronic and steam systems and related equipment.

While performing the duties of this role, the team member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to stand and walk. The team member is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment. While performing the duties of this role, the team member could be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment may require ear protection.
