Job summary

Securitas Technology in New York is seeking a client-facing Service Technician to respond to trouble tickets, diagnose and resolve issues, and perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime on access control, CCTV, intrusion, and fire alarm systems.

The role requires a High School diploma, hands-on installation of low voltage equipment, familiarity with IP addressing, and documenting changes with clear technical language. On-site work and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting low voltage equipment
• Strong working knowledge of commercial access control, CCTV, burglary alarm, intrusion systems, and fire alarms
• Fire alarm experience: Bosch, Silent Knight highly preferred
• NICET certification or State Fire License preferred
• ESA Certified Alarm Technician preferred
• NTS Certified Service Technician preferred
• Working knowledge of network communications and IP addressing
• Certifications in enterprise grade CCTV, Access Control a plus
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Respond to trouble tickets to ensure application uptime and system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve application issues individually or as a team.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks to maximize availability and identify faults.
• Perform routine configuration changes (user permissions, application configuration, etc.).
• Document all system modifications through a digital change control tracking system.
• Produce quality technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Perform pre-deployment end to end testing of upgrades and modifications.
• Perform on-site installations of software upgrades and major modifications.

Produce quality technical documentation describing the conceptual and quantitative facets of system deployment, intended for both a technical and non-technical audience. Perform pre-deployment end to end testing of all upgrades and major modifications. Perform on site installations of software upgrades and major modifications.
