Job summary

Hobart Service, part of ITW, seeks a mechanically and electrically inclined technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial food equipment at customer sites nationwide.

You will travel from home, typically 50% time, with overtime and on-call as required, and participate in industry-leading training at our Troy, OH headquarters. Competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a safety-focused environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Accredited High School Diploma or GED and 4-6 years of electrical/mechanical experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive several hours daily.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on-call as required.
• Willingness to attend training at ITW corporate headquarters in Troy, OH.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial food equipment (cooking, food prep, ware washers, baking, refrigeration).
• Typically leave from home each morning and work with minimal supervision at customer sites.
• Meet or surpass weekly productivity and customer service goals while maintaining high service standards.

• You will work with customers to electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial food equipment to include cooking, food preparation, ware washers, weigh wrap, baking and refrigeration.
• You will typically leave from home each morning and work with minimal direct supervision at customer sites.
• You will meet or surpass weekly productivity and customer-oriented goals while maintaining a high level of customer service.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• An accredited High School Diploma or GED and 4-6years of similar electrical/mechanical experience
• You must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to drive multiple hours daily
• You should be able to work Overtime and On-Call as required
• You must be able to attend our industry leading training at our corporate headquarters in Troy, OH

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Demands

• Lift up to 75 lbs with or without assistance
• Climb up to 10 ft with an A-frame ladder
• Occasional roof access may be necessary through extension ladders or fixed ladders greater than 20 feet
• Extensive walking 3-5 miles / day
• Extensive driving 5-6 hours/day
• Kneel, squat, bend, push/pull
• Move in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
• Operate machinery and/or power tools

Working Conditions

• Office facility and customer facilities (including commercial kitchens of various types of businesses)
• Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet dirty conditions may occur
• Travel requirement up to 50% of time

Hours of Work

• Normal business hours with occasional/frequent/extended hours as needed
• Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines
• Extended hours may include nights and/or weekends
• Normal scheduled hours cover early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
