Job summary

Empire Truck Sales, LLC is seeking an Entry Service Technician I to join our team in Natchez, MS. You will perform preventive maintenance on Freightliner and Western Star trucks, learn shop procedures, and grow under experienced technicians. This role focuses on foundational repairs and safety.

You’ll receive structured wage progression, in-house training, mentoring, and a clear path to DTNA certification, with tool and laptop loan programs and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years diesel/heavy equipment or automotive repair experience, or enrollment in a diesel/automotive program; 1 year preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn under supervision.
• Starter set of hand tools; tool loan available.
• Ability to follow procedures, checklists and safety guidelines.
• Basic computer skills for repair orders and service information.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Interest in obtaining a Class A CDL is a plus; CDL not required.
• Able to perform essential physical functions; able to work shifts/overtime.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Freightliner/Western Star trucks, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, and fluid checks.
• Complete wheel service, lighting repairs, and basic component replacement.
• Assist with brake adjustments under supervision of senior technicians.
• Support Tech II/III on larger repairs while learning shop procedures.
• Learn to navigate service information systems and record work on repair orders.
• Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized and safe.

Build your diesel repair career with practical shop experience and guidance from experienced technicians. This position focuses on preventive maintenance, foundational repair skills, and learning established service procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance services on Freightliner and Western Star trucks, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, and fluid checks
• Complete wheel service, lighting repairs, and basic component replacement
• Assist with brake adjustments under the direction of senior technicians
• Support Tech II and Tech III technicians on larger repairs while learning shop procedures
• Learn to navigate service information systems and record work accurately on repair orders
• Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe

• 1 to 2 years of experience in diesel, heavy equipment, automotive, or small engine repair, or completion of, or current enrollment in, a diesel or automotive technology program, including community college or military technical training; 1 year minimum work experience is preferred

• Starter set of hand tools; tool loan program available
• Ability to follow written procedures, checklists, and safety guidelines
• Basic computer skills for repair orders and service information
• Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
• Interest in obtaining a Class A CDL is a plus; CDL not required
• Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed
• Willingness to travel as needed
