Job summary

Securitas Technology in Miami, FL is seeking a field technician to provide post-installation support for security systems. This role requires hands-on work on CCTV, access control, intrusion, and fire alarm systems, with on-site diagnostics, configuration changes, and documentation.

A valid EL06 license or near completion is required; strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills are essential; training and advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience installing/troubleshooting low voltage equipment.
• Familiar with CCTV, access control, burglary and fire alarm systems.
• Certifications in alarm systems are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to trouble tickets to ensure system uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve application/system issues.
• Execute preventative maintenance to maximize availability.
• Perform on-site installations of software upgrades and major modifications.
• Document modifications in change control tracking system.
• Produce technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Perform pre-deployment end-to-end testing.

Our service teams are responsible for providing service on Securitas Technology products at client sites. The position provides client contact for all post-installation problems on systems and equipment, as well as, special project work, when needed.
This role requires an active EL06 license or must be very close to getting their EL06 License.
Job Duties

• Respond to trouble tickets to ensure application uptime and system performance.
• Work individually and as a team to diagnose and resolve application issues.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks to maximize application availability and identify system faults.
• Perform routine configuration changes (user permissions, application configuration, etc.)
• Document all system modifications through a digital change control tracking system.
• Produce quality technical documentation describing the conceptual and quantitative facets of system deployment, intended for both a technical and non-technical audience.
• Perform pre-deployment end to end testing of all upgrades and major modifications.
• Perform on site installations of software upgrades and major modifications.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Familiarity installing and troubleshooting low voltage equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial access control, CCTV, burglary alarm, intrusion systems, and fire alarms
• Fire alarm experience:
• Bosch, Silent Knight highly preferred.
• Simplex, Notifier, Edwards, Siemens, or other commercial fire systems is a plus.
• ESA Certified Alarm Technician preferred
• NTS Certified Service Technician preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Certifications in enterprise grade CCTV and Access Control systems a plus
