Job summary

Vermeer Midwest is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain heavy equipment, including drills, trenchers, and excavators. You will diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety and efficiency in daily operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of repair experience or a relevant technical program, with strong communication and time management skills. A CDL Class B is preferred, and a team-oriented, growth-focused environment awaits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience repairing heavy equipment or completion of a formal technical training program preferred.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• CDL Class B or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty equipment such as directional drills, trenchers, brush chippers, excavators, aerial lifts, and more.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using computerized tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools.
• Clean, lubricate, test, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Complete service tickets and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate repair status with customers and collaborate with fellow technicians as needed.

What You’ll Do

• CDL Class B or higher preferred
