Job summary

Canteen, a part of Compass Group USA, is hiring a full-time Service Technician at 111 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10011 to service and repair specialty coffee equipment at client locations. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing issues, and respond to service requests with a focus on customer satisfaction.

The role requires prior coffee equipment repair experience and strong customer service, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs at customer locations.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing issues.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies with timely solutions.
• Rebuilds, refurbishments, and component replacements to restore function.
• Inspect equipment and verify testing and calibration per manufacturer specs.
• Assist in installations and removals when needed.

• We are hiring immediately for a full time SERVICE TECHNICIAN position.
• Location: 111 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10011. Note: online applications accepted only.

• Requirement: Previous experience fixing specialty coffee equipment and customer service experience required.
• Pay Range: $26.00per hour to$30.00per hour.
• Additional Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, routine inspections, equipment evaluations, and necessary repairs at customer locations to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing-related issues on specialty coffee equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer service requests, equipment malfunctions, and emergency repair situations, delivering timely solutions and exceptional customer service.
  • Perform equipment rebuilds, refurbishments, and component replacements to restore functionality, extend equipment lifespan, and maintain established performance standards. Conduct thorough operational testing, equipment calibration, and performance evaluations to verify proper functionality, accuracy, and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Execute established preventive maintenance schedules across assigned customer equipment fleets, proactively identifying potential issues and addressing maintenance needs before equipment failures occur.
  • Perform detailed maintenance and repairs on specialty coffee equipment, including group head rebuilds, steam valve servicing, gasket replacements, grinder maintenance, water system inspections, and pressure and temperature verification.

Job Summary

Summary: Repairs, maintains and assists in the installation of vending machines and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company-owned vehicle.
• Calls on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; listens to and resolves service complaints.
• Visually inspects and listens to machines to determine causes of malfunctions; dismantles machines to gain access to problem area.
• Inspects parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems; removes and replaces worn or defective parts; repairs broken parts; realigns and adjusts components; tests machine operation following repair.
• Reviews inventory and orders parts; ships and receives machines; maintains equipment inventory.
• Prepares machines for installation at accounts; assists in installations and removals.
• Sets up and operates mechanical equipment and small hand tools, such as drills, grinders and welding torches, for machine repair.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
