Job summary

Four Star Freightliner, Inc. in Georgiana, AL is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic (Level A & B) to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems.

You will perform routine maintenance, use diagnostic tools, and maintain detailed service records while delivering excellent customer service in a team-focused, safety-conscious environment. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in service tech, diesel engine experience with Detroit and Cummins, and CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a service technician.
• Diesel engine expertise with heavy and light duty trucks.
• Experience with diagnosing, maintaining and repairing diesel systems and components.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, systems, and components, including fuel, brakes, steering, suspension, and transmission systems.
• Conduct regular maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and system inspections to prevent potential issues.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about vehicle issues and repair timelines.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in Service Tech for at least 5 years
• Diesel Engine experience preferred with Detroit & Cummins Engine
• Extensive knowledge of the diagnosing, maintenance and repair of Heavy and light duty Trucks, Diesel Engines, cylinder head, transmission, clutch and related mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic component systems
• Experience using and caring for the tools and equipment
• CDL Plus

EXPERIENCE

• Diesel engine repair: 3 to 5 years (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)
• Heavy duty truck: 2 to 5 years (Preferred)
