Job summary

Four Star Freightliner, Inc. in Dothan, AL is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines and heavy/light-duty trucks. The role requires a strong background in Detroit and Cummins engines, plus CDL.

You will perform maintenance, document work accurately, and uphold safety and environmental standards. The team emphasizes teamwork, training, and personal development within a supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience in Service Tech for at least 5 years.
• Diesel Engine experience preferred with Detroit & Cummins Engine.
• Extensive knowledge of the diagnosing, maintenance and repair of Heavy and light duty Trucks, Diesel Engines, cylinder head, transmission, clutch and related mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic component systems.
• Experience using and caring for the tools and equipment.
• CDL Plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, systems, and components, including fuel, brakes, steering, suspension, and transmission systems.
• Conduct regular maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and system inspections to prevent potential issues.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about vehicle issues and repair timelines.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.

EXPERIENCE:

• Diesel engine repair: 3 to 5 years (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)
• Heavy duty truck: 2 to 5 years (Preferred)
