Job summary

Ambient Enterprises seeks a field HVAC commercial technician with strong chiller water system experience to service a 100 mile radius in Northern California and Nevada. The candidate will maintain and repair large tonnage chillers, cooling towers, and central plants, with on-call emergency support and end-to-end commissioning responsibilities.

Requirements include 5 years journeyman level experience, commercial/industrial AC knowledge, EPA Universal Technician certification, OSHA 10/30, and

• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of chillers, HVAC, and central plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls on-call through rotation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment including large chillers, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and fans.
• Manage scheduling of site maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Perform tests, start-ups, and end-to-end testing of systems.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.

Job description

American Chiller Service, Inc. (ACS) was formed in 1988 and now a subsidiary of Ambient Enterprises. We are a large tonnage commercial air conditioning service company specializing in Turbocor, centrifugal, absorption, screw, and reciprocating chillers. We offer chiller and cooling tower service, maintenance, retrofit, rental, and new equipment installations.

We’re hiring a field HVAC commercial technician with strong chiller water system experience to service a 100 mile radius.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Controls / Technical: HVAC Controls, BAS, DDC, VFDs, PLCs, Modbus, Electrical Troubleshooting, Commissioning, Startup
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
• Familiar with all aspects of rigging.
• Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
• Availability for emergency service calls “on-call” through normal rotation.
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment of chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and allocated time.
• Maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all on-site equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of Chiller, HVAC, and Central Plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge is required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls “on call” through normal rotation.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Valid California License
• Active EPA Universal Technician Certification

COMPENSATION

$50-$90 /hr DOE , We offer excellent health benefits, a 401(k) Plan, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays and flexible scheduling.
