Job summary

Peach State Truck Centers is seeking a diesel/heavy-duty technician to maintain and repair Class 5–8 trucks and RVs per OEM and company guidelines.

The role requires diagnosing complex systems, using hand and power tools, and achieving certification such as Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, and CNG systems. CDL and A/C certification are preferred, with a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and RVs per OEM and company guidelines.
• Must complete on-line Freightliner Technician Training for certification in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems.
• Possess valid A/C certification; CDL may be required depending on role.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck systems using hand and power tools.
• Ensure repairs are completed accurately per work orders.
• Maintain time punches and work order processes.
• Keep area clean and safe; protect customer vehicle during repairs.
• Test drive trucks to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Follow warranty procedures and tag parts as required.

Job description

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
• Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
• Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
• Must complete 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems
• Possess valid A/C certification

• Possess 3 valid ASE HEAVY DUTY TRUCK Certifications

Or

• Possess a valid CDL license for the state of Georgia and valid A/C certification
