Job summary

Peach State Truck Centers is hiring a skilled truck technician in McDonough, GA. You will diagnose, repair, and test class 5–8 trucks and RVs per OEM guidelines, with emphasis on hydraulics, electrical, A/C and driveline systems. This role requires CDL, ASE certifications, and Freightliner training completion.

The position is on-site in McDonough and entails strict adherence to safety, warranty procedures, and efficient work orders while keeping customer vehicles clean during and after service.

Qualifications

• Possess 3 valid ASE HEAVY DUTY TRUCK Certifications.
• Possess a valid CDL license for GA and a valid A/C certification.
• Complete 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified.
• Experience with hydraulics, diagnostics, braking, electrical and A/C systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck systems using hand and power tools.
• Ensure repairs follow work orders and OEM guidelines.
• Test drive and inspect trucks to verify proper operation.
• Maintain clean work area and customer vehicle condition during repairs.
• Document work performed and adhere to warranty procedures.

Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Ensures that repairs are completed with complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
• Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
• Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
• Must complete 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems
• Possess valid A/C certification

Or

• Possess 3 valid ASE HEAVY DUTY TRUCK Certifications

Or

• Possess a valid CDL license for the state of Georgia and valid A/C certification

Experience with the following repairs:

Hydraulic Clutch, Diagnostics and Repair, Hydraulic Brake Diagnostics and Repair, Basic Driveline Repairs, Basic Cab and Chassis Electrical, Transmission Remove and Replace, Differential - Remove and Replace, Spring Suspension Repair, Exhaust System, 609 Certification, Diagnostics and Repair Air Sys., Air Leak Diagnostics and Repair, Clutch Diagnostics and Replacement, Charging and Starting Systems, A/C System, Cooling System Diagnostics and Repair, Basic Electronics, Air Valves, Driveline Replacement, Set Valve Lash
