Job summary

Peach State Truck Centers seeks a skilled Heavy Duty Truck Technician in Georgia. The role involves diagnosing and repairing class 5–8 vehicles per OEM guidelines, testing and inspecting systems, and maintaining accurate work orders.

Candidates should hold ASE certifications or a CDL with A/C certification, with welding and diagnostic tool experience preferred. Responsibilities include safe service delivery, clean work areas, and adherence to warranty procedures while ensuring timely completion

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck systems following OEM guidelines.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools; document work and time punches.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and comply with warranty procedures.
• Hold ASE certifications or CDL with A/C certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck systems on class 5–8 vehicles per OEM guidelines.
• Test drive and inspect trucks to identify malfunctions; use test instruments.
• Maintain accurate work orders, time punches, and daily attendance expectations.
• Keep the work area clean and protect customer vehicles during service.
• Adhere to warranty procedures and complete required certifications.

Job description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Ensures that repairs are completed with complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
• Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
• Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.

• Must complete 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems
• Possess valid A/C certification

Or

• Possess 3 valid ASE HEAVY DUTY TRUCK Certifications

Or

• Possess a valid CDL license for the state of Georgia and valid A/C certification

Experience with the following repairs:

Hydraulic Clutch, Diagnostics and Repair, Hydraulic Brake Diagnostics and Repair, Basic Driveline Repairs, Basic Cab and Chassis Electrical, Transmission Remove and Replace, Differential - Remove and Replace, Spring Suspension Repair, Exhaust System, 609 Certification, Diagnostics and Repair Air Sys., Air Leak Diagnostics and Repair, Clutch Diagnostics and Replacement, Charging and Starting Systems, A/C System, Cooling System Diagnostics and Repair, Basic Electronics, Air Valves, Driveline Replacement, Set Valve Lash
