Job summary

Peach State Truck Centers in Harpersville, AL is seeking a skilled diesel technician to maintain class 5–8 trucks and RVs per OEM guidelines. You will diagnose, repair, and test electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems.

The role requires ASE Heavy Duty certifications or CDL plus A/C certification; Freightliner training completion; adherence to safety and warranty procedures; and ability to work with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• ASE Heavy Duty Truck Certifications preferred.
• CDL license required or ability to obtain one.
• Complete Freightliner training to become Systems Certified (Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG).
• A/C certification required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs truck systems using hand and power tools.
• Test drives trucks to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Maintain accurate work orders and time punches.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with safety procedures.
• Follow warranty procedures and OEM guidelines.

Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
• Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
• Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
• Must complete 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems
• Possess valid A/C certification

Or

• Possess 3 valid ASE HEAVY DUTY TRUCK Certifications

Or

• Possess a valid CDL license for the state of Georgia and valid A/C certification
