Primary Duties

• Read gas meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers; record readings for billing.
• Observe and report abnormal, dangerous, or damaged conditions related to gas meters and surrounding areas.
• Report atmospheric corrosion or damage.
• Perform basic service and/or construction work as qualified.
• Train entry-level Meter Readers.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

• Identify, address, and report safety and encroachment issues.
• Ensure safe operation and inspection of company vehicles and equipment.
• Support and adhere to company values, strategies, policies, and procedures, including core values of AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety, and the Code of Conduct.
• Familiarize with the Safety Manual, live by its spirit, and complete all safety training.

Minimum Requirements

Educational/Experience Level: High school diploma or GED; valid driver's license.

Certificates, Licenses, etc.: Obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) and required training.

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate factual information with internal and external customers.

Numeric Skills: Basic arithmetic skills.

Computer Skills: Basic data entry and retrieval skills.

Work Conditions: Outdoor environment.

Physical Demands: Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, walk 500 feet, and ascend/descend a 22-inch step.
