  • Perform duties required to service, adjust and inspect natural gas appliances and equipment for safe operation.
  • Provide gas service, including handling of service calls, gas leak investigations, customer turn-ons and turn-offs, gas piping, meter installation and change outs within applicable guidelines.
  • Respond to customer calls and emergencies.
  • Learn and comply with all national, state and city gas codes pertaining to service work.
  • Perform locates on the underground piping system to meet the requirements set forth.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Job description

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Service, adjust and inspect gas appliances and equipment for safe operation. Install and maintain meter sets; respond to customer calls and emergencies. Assist in meter reading, line locations and collection of delinquent bills. May investigate high bill complaints, assist customers in the proper, efficient and economical utilization of gas service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems at a level normally acquired through completion of a post-secondary HVAC vocational certification program.
  • Must have a strong customer service focus and be willing to perform diverse responsibilities in gas distribution.
  • Must have a valid developer's license and safe driving record.
  • Must learn and comply with all national, state and city codes pertaining to natural gas service work.
  • Must be able to work other shifts as scheduled (callout, standby, etc.) and respond to and assist with gas-related emergencies.
  • Requires a deal of attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and complete accurately with limited supervision.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • This position requires you to live within the boundaries of the emergency standby coverage area.

Apprentice Service Technician Wage $34.07 per hour

Service Technician B Wage: $39.25 per hour

Service Technician A Wage: $41.95 per hour
