Job summary

Lithia Hyundai of Reno is hiring a Service Technician to perform repairs and diagnostics in a dealer setting. The role requires Hyundai experience and 5+ years in automotive service, with ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dealership automotive technician experience required; Hyundai experience preferred.
• ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications preferred (or a willingness to obtain them).
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify and repair vehicle concerns.
• Proficiency in routine maintenance, drivability, electrical, and mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues as outlined on repair orders, with efficiency and accuracy.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Record time spent on repairs using company clocking procedures and document results.
• Maintain organized workspace and necessary tools for service tasks.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications through required training.
• Provide high-quality expertise with attention to detail and safety compliance.

Now Hiring: Service Technician

Pay: Up to $40.00 per flat rate hour depending on experience and certifications

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with one rotating Saturday per month

What You'll Do

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the service department as "special tools".
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.
• Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Complete all required training.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.

What You'll Bring

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, flat-rate environment while maintaining productivity.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively with service advisors and fellow technicians.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
