Job summary

Morgan Properties in Woodridge, IL is seeking a Service Technician to join our maintenance team at a 762-unit apartment community. You will handle service requests, perform repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances, and prepare homes for new residents.

This full-time role involves on-site work, on-call rotation, and contributing to a safe, attractive community. You will collaborate with teammates to deliver exceptional resident experiences.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance systems.
• Perform general maintenance and make-ready work for vacant homes.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Diagnose and perform repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents, including repairs, cleaning, and make-ready activities.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and community equipment.
• Assist with maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of grounds, common areas, and amenities.
• Conduct property inspections and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues.
• Assist with snow removal, salting, and severe weather preparation when required.
• Work closely with fellow team members and office staff to provide an outstanding resident experience.

As a Service Technician, You Will Be Expected To

• Complete service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.


• Diagnose and perform repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance.


• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents, including repairs, cleaning, and make-ready activities.

Compensation & Incentives

• Base Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour


• Up to 50% Rent Discount


• Property Staff Shared Renewal Commissions


• Morgan Essentials: $300 Quarterly


• On-Call Appreciation: $15 Per Day for Holding the On-Call Phone

Hours & Schedule

• Full-Time Position


• Paid rotating on-call participation required


• Must be available for emergency events, snow removal, and severe weather response


• Overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs

• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or general maintenance preferred.
