We're seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician / Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) to perform warranty repairs, maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and system repairs on fire apparatus and emergency rescue vehicles. This role primarily focuses on completing manufacturer warranty repairs in strict accordance with warranty guidelines, specifications, and procedures to ensure repairs are properly performed, documented, and remain eligible for warranty coverage.
The technician will work primarily out of the LME service facility at the St. Louis Fire Protection District warehouse (Central Garage in Downtown St. Louis) with travel to other LME customers throughout the St. Louis area as needed to diagnose and complete repairs. This is a hands-on position supporting fire departments and first responders by keeping emergency apparatus safe, reliable, and ready for service.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
This position participates in responding to LME-related emergency service calls. Emergency call-outs are expected to be rare, but the technician must be available to respond when needed, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
The successful technician takes ownership of each repair from diagnosis through completion, follows manufacturer warranty procedures carefully, documents work accurately, and communicates clearly with customers and the LME team. This role requires someone who can troubleshoot problems independently, work safely and efficiently, and understand that reliable emergency apparatus directly impacts the readiness of first responders.
