Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire technician to service and repair tires for passenger cars, light trucks, and commercial fleets. You will diagnose mechanical issues on trucks and perform routine maintenance while ensuring safe operation of company vehicles and adherence to regulations.

You will lift heavy tires, engage in physically demanding work, and participate in ongoing training. Benefits include 401(k) with matching, comprehensive insurance, and paid on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including commercial tires, HVAC systems, brakes, PM inspections, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350) when needed.
• Use and maintain TPMS.
• Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
• Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
