Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repairs under supervision. The role includes on‑the‑job training toward technician status, with emphasis on motor overhaul, fuel, electrical and brake systems.

Candidates should have at least three years of hands-on experience or completed vocational training. CDL preferred; A/C, Brake and DOT Inspector certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Must have necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical duties and assist in repairs.
• Gain experience in motor overhaul, fuel, electrical and transmission systems.
• Troubleshoot minor problems and assist Shop Foreman with repairs.
• Attend training sessions and meetings and maintain organized workspace.

Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic performs heavy-duty truck repair under general supervision, receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve service technician status.

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience in motor overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, motor tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
