Job summary

Edwards Equipment is seeking a Service Technician in Terre Haute, IN, to perform extensive diesel mechanical repairs with oversight. The role involves repairing equipment components, servicing fuel and electrical systems, and maintaining general machinery.

Applicants should have 3+ years of diesel experience (or vocational training), own essential tools, and good communication and customer service skills. CDL is a plus for mobile duties; OSHA-style safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• At least three years of practical diesel experience or completion of vocational diesel training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out or assist with various general mechanical tasks.
• Repair all assigned equipment components and systems with minimal supervision.
• Work on fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tuning, and general maintenance.
• OEM training can be provided.
• General knowledge of maintaining and repairing tractors, construction equipment, and mowers.
• Utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment to complete tasks.
• Troubleshoot minor issues independently.
• Access and use manufacturer troubleshooting resources and diagnostic tools (laptop, meters, pressure gauges) on your own.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
• Keep a tidy and organized workspace and properly manage company tools.
• Notify the Service Manager if additional repairs are needed.
• Follow safe working practices, wear safety gear when required, take advice on safety matters, and ask for help when needed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:

While on duty, employees must be able to communicate clearly, listen effectively, and use necessary equipment to perform job functions. Manual dexterity is required. The use of company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety protocols are mandatory.
Ability to lift between 15-75 lbs.
