Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Asset Care Service Technician in Salt Lake City to install, service, and exchange ion exchange tanks at customer sites. You will deliver equipment, perform on-site maintenance, and ensure quality through testing and documentation.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, working in varied environments, and maintaining strong customer relationships while following safety and environmental policies. Viable for candidates with relevant industrial experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Associate degree or college coursework in related fields.
• Experience with chemical handling and water treatment concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ion exchange tanks and water treatment equipment to customer sites.
• Load/unload equipment, maintain inventory onboard trucks.
• Perform on-site tank exchanges and routine maintenance.
• Take water samples and conduct basic tests (pH, resistivity, hardness).
• Prepare and record vehicle inspection reports and test results.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping, follow EHS policies.

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Asset Care Service Technician will install and service water purification systems at customer sites. In this role, you will deliver, set up, and exchange ion exchange tanks to customers in commercial and industrial applications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive truck to deliver ion exchange tanks and water treatment equipment to customer sites
• Ensure that the correct daily equipment is loaded, secured, and meets quality specs
• Load and unload tanks on trucks and maintain correct inventory on board trucks as required
• Complete Vehicle Inspection Reports for pre-trip inspection
• Keep accurate accountability of inventory at each site and make changes as needed
• Communicate changes through the proper channels and follow up to ensure that changes have been made
• Take water samples and conduct the following tests, including but not limited to TOS, resistivity, pH, C021 Cl21 and hardness
• Accurately record results and make suggestions or changes as required
• Rinse ion exchange tanks to customer specifications at customer sites and ensure quality specifications are met
• Perform both dry and wet ion exchange tank exchanges
• Perform maintenance on equipment to include PVC repair and minor pump and motor repairs
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times
• Follow Water Tech and customer EHS policies and rules
• Maintain contact with customers on site, communicating effectively, politely, and responding to their needs
• Maintain good customer relationships
• Assist with equipment or product delivery outside normal scope when needed
• May be required to be on call during non-business hours

• Knowledge of commercial & industrial membrane systems & UV systems
• Knowledge of PLC logic/programing
• Knowledge of ion exchange & membrane theory & operation, as well as pretreatment applications
• Ability & willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 50lbs
• Ability & willingness to work in all weather conditions
• Ability & willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, & power industry facilities

Education & Experience:

Required

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver's license & clean driving record history

Preferred

• Vocational training in applicable fields such as electrical, industrial/mechanical
• College coursework in chemistry
• Associate's Degree in electrical, industrial/mechanical, engineering, or water treatment disciplines
• Experience driving company vehicles such as panel vans or service trucks
• Forklift certification/experience or ability to obtain forklift certification

Working Conditions:

• May be required to lift up to 50lbs
• May be required to work in all weather conditions
• Work may take place in a range of environments (industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, & power industry facilities)
