Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent training preferred.
  • 2+ years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience preferred.
  • B-Level technician experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
  • Ability to interpret repair manuals, TSBs, schematics, and service info.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex automotive issues.
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and productivity.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced techs.
  • Read/write/communicate professionally.
  • Basic math for measurements and repairs.
  • Follow written/verbal/diagram-based instructions.
  • Physically lift/bend/stand and work throughout the day.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs per standards.
  • Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, transmission systems.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance like oil changes, rotations, and multi-point inspections.
  • Document diagnostic findings and repairs on repair orders.
  • Identify additional maintenance opportunities and advise service advisor.
  • Conduct road tests to verify concerns and repairs.
  • Stay current with manufacturer repair procedures and recalls.
  • Collaborate with advisors, parts staff, and technicians for workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, lifts, tools safely and efficiently.
  • Protect customer vehicles and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Engage in manufacturer training and certification opportunities.
