Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented automotive service technician to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality performance. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to providing a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance concerns using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective vehicle components as needed.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and document findings accurately.
  • Communicate repair recommendations, timelines, and service updates clearly to service advisors or team members.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards during all repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and additional service recommendations.
  • Stay current on vehicle systems, repair techniques, and evolving automotive technologies.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in automotive maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, or repair preferred.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine, brake, suspension, steering, electrical, and drivability components.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • ASE certification or other relevant automotive credentials.
  • Experience with manufacturer repair procedures and maintenance standards.
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems and modern vehicle technology.
  • Experience in a dealership, independent repair shop, or fleet maintenance environment.
Work Environment

This role is primarily performed in an automotive repair shop environment and may require standing, bending, lifting, and working with tools and equipment for extended periods. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hands‑on setting with exposure to noise, grease, heat, and moving vehicle parts.
