Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair client EVs, with emphasis on HV/LV systems and powertrains. You will document interactions, work with the service team, and support remote/mobile operations as needed.

Preferred candidates have 3-5 years in auto service, EPA 609, and strong communication skills. The role offers hourly pay and opportunities to complete ASE-like certifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair client vehicles including EV systems.
• Repair basic and major mechanical issues and perform electrical diagnostics.
• Document repair orders accurately and thoroughly.
• Document customer vehicle interactions using the software suite.
• Collaborate with service team and customers; teach skills when needed.
• Show attention to detail and deliver positive client experiences.
• Support remote/mobile service team as needed.

Job description

Client: Confidential - Leader in the Electric Vehicle space

Location Options:

• Plainview, NY
• Rutherford, NJ
• McLean, VA

Pay: $31-43/hr, based on experience.

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing the client's vehicles. You will demonstrate your passion for sustainable transportation and creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

The client will pay for the completion of your ASE certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Confidently repair basic and major mechanical issues and perform basic electrical and mechanical diagnosis
• Maintain a high knowledge level of High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV), and general electric vehicle systems
• Follow correct repair order documentation procedures, i.e. The Three C's
• Effectively work with the appropriate software suite to properly and completely document all customer vehicle interactions
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the service team (i.e., advisor, manager, etc.) as well as customers.
• Ability to demonstrate and teach learned technical skills/knowledge with others
• Demonstrate attention to detail and passion for creating positive client experiences
• Ability to work remotely and support mobile service team as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as an automotive service technician, including previous experience with EV/HEV diagnosis and repair
• Knowledge of High Voltage systems, Low Voltage systems, and Electric Vehicle powertrains
• Customer facing experience exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use applications such as Microsoft Office as well as learn proprietary DMS software
• EPA 609 Certification
• Willingness to complete client provided CPR training post hire
• Valid driver’s license with no suspensions within the past year. Drivers under 21 must have maintained a Driver’s License for a minimum of 3 years and successfully complete Training upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASE Certifications (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, L3, L4 - ADAS)
• Experience in luxury automobile repair environments.
