Job Description

Description: The Service Technician is responsible for performing diversified duties including general maintenance and janitorial services to ensure the property is operating at its high standard and according to product vision.

General Maintenance/Janitorial Services

• Address emergency work orders within 24hrs (if on call)
• Complete work orders according to company policy and procedures (within 24-48 hours)
• Show care and concern for our residents through timely follow ups and meticulous completion of their apartment work orders
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in through Make-Ready process and as assigned by Service Manager
• Perform preventative maintenance as assigned by Service Manager
• Maintain the beauty of the building and safety of the community through general upkeep, snow removal and grounds maintenance and trash removal
• Ability to work weekends or evenings and be on call for after hour emergencies
• Connect with people by listening and demonstrating concern and a sense of urgency to correct any issues they may have
• Take ownership and pride in making certain the community is impeccable
• Cover for team members when needed
• Seek out opportunities to enhance the customer's experience

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience in building maintenance or an education in the trades
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance repair
• An HVAC certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire – company-paid)
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation
• The ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
• Personal, reliable transportation to get to work and to respond to on-call emergencies
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills and comfort using various software, apps and computer programs
• An eye for detail and committed to getting things done right the first time
