PSS Industrial Group is seeking a Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment at shop and customer sites. You will provide safe operation, professional service, and accurate documentation of all service activities.
Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting with manuals and schematics, and timely communication with the Service Manager. A valid driver’s license and ability to work independently or in a team are required.
The Service Technician inspects, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs equipment in the shop and at customer locations. This position supports safe, reliable equipment operation while providing professional customer service and accurate service documentation.
Inspect equipment, identify mechanical or electrical issues, and complete necessary repairs. Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics. Repair or replace worn or damaged components and test equipment before returning it to service. Complete work orders documenting labor, parts used, findings, and repairs performed. Communicate equipment conditions, repair needs, and job progress to the Service Manager. Assist customers with equipment operation and maintenance questions. Follow company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment. Assist with equipment preparation, deliveries, and field service calls as assigned. Coordinate with service, parts, and operations teams to complete work efficiently. Perform other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred. Previous experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related service role preferred. Working knowledge of mechanical systems; hydraulic, electrical, or engine troubleshooting experience preferred. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record required if assigned to operate a company vehicle.
Work may be performed in a shop, outdoors, and at customer sites, with exposure to varying weather, noise, dust, and equipment. Duties may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. Must be able to handle tools, parts, and equipment safely, using lifting assistance when appropriate. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
[Full-time work schedule.] Overtime, occasional weekend work, and local travel may be required based on business needs.
