Job summary

RoofStock is seeking a Service Technician to maintain rental properties across multiple sites north of Birmingham, Alabama. This full-time role requires a self-motivated, customer-focused professional capable of performing repairs and inspections in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), turnovers, inspections, QA of vendor work, and field tasks using mobile apps.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local properties.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable using mobile apps to manage work orders and communication.
• May be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance: perform routine and emergency repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Turnovers: prepare vacant units for new move-ins (make-readies).
• Inspections: conduct move-in/out and property onboarding audits.
• QA: audit work completed by external vendors.
• Field Ops: manage service tasks via mobile apps and communicate findings.

Compensation

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour (Base pay may be adjusted based on experience, licensure level, and location.)

Schedule

Full-time, no on-call, no weekends

About the Role:

As a Service Technician, you will maintain rental properties in peak condition across multiple sites. We are looking for a self-motivated, tech-savvy professional who is customer-focused and capable of performing high-quality repairs and inspections in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintenance: Perform routine and emergency repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Turnovers: Prepare vacant units for new move-ins ("make-readies").
• Inspections: Conduct move-in/out and property onboarding audits.
• QA: Audit work completed by external vendors.
• Field Ops: Manage service tasks via mobile apps and post legal notices.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Comfortable using mobile apps for work orders and communication
• Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

• Daily travel to local properties
• Mix of indoor and outdoor work
• Physical role (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, climbing, etc.)
