Job summary

Ameriserve is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants, hotels, and more. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to superior customer service.

Travel is extensive, and candidates must pass background and drug screenings, hold a valid driver’s license, and be adept with safety standards. A company vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree or certification preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers.
• Ability to manage workload in a timely and consistent manner.
• Lift up to 55 pounds; physical fitness for field work.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
• EPA 608 or CFESA certifications in gas, electrical, steam, refrigeration, or electrical preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; background and drug screening required.
• Proficient in MS Office and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, walk-in coolers/freezers, dish machines, fryers, mixers, tilt skillets, HVAC).
• Support clients by testing equipment and circuits; troubleshoot and resolve requests promptly.
• Maintain relationships with customers and follow company guidelines.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and gas-related issues in kitchen equipment.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of commercial kitchen appliances and systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, walk-in coolers/freezers, dish machines, fryers, mixers, tilt skillets, and HVAC systems
• Support the client: Oversee all network services and perform tests on equipment and circuits. Troubleshoot issues and resolve any requests or concerns that come up in a timely manner. Perform tests to ensure systems are error-free
• Customer Service: Maintain relationships with customers and follow company guidelines
• Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and gas-related issues with commercial kitchen equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree or certification preferred
• Experience a minimum of 2–5 years in repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to build strong relationships with the customer and display excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage your workflow in a timely and consistent manner
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
• Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Preferred relevant certifications such as EPA 608, CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Associate) in gas, electrical, steam, refrigeration, or electrical
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record as outlined with our company policy
• Must be able to pass a satisfactory background and drug screening
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Knowledgeable about all safety requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 to 75 pounds; frequently lift and or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and heavy lift equipment
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and climb up and down ladders
• Extensive daily travel to work site locations
• Exposure to electrical, steam, and high heat units that require extreme caution and safety equipment
