Job summary

MANOR SHOP is seeking an experienced technician to service and repair emergency vehicle equipment at customer sites in the Manor, Texas region. The role requires traveling to customer locations, performing troubleshooting, and ensuring installations are completed to specification.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a clean driving record with Class B CDL, and knowledge of heavy truck repair principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Clean driving record; Class B CDL.
• Knowledge of repair principles in heavy truck industry.
• EVT or ASE certifications are a plus.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after troubleshooting.

Summary

Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
