Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group in Conway, AR is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician to perform repair work and preventative maintenance on fire apparatus and ambulance equipment. You will troubleshoot problems on-site or at customer locations and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.

Travel within an assigned territory is required, you will provide excellent customer service, document repairs, and support customers by phone when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record; ability to obtain Class B CDL.
• Knowledge of repair principles in heavy truck repair.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair of fire apparatus equipment and emergency vehicles.
• Travel to customer locations for testing and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and install equipment as needed.
• Provide telephone support to assist troubleshooting.
• Confirm equipment is functional after service.
• Maintain high quality of repair processes and documentation.
• Respond to customer needs and ensure satisfaction.

Summary

Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
