Job summary

Wastequip WRX – our Equipment Service Division in Lithia Springs, GA – is seeking mechanics who want to advance their careers. We provide tools, training and a collaborative team environment. Hourly rate range is $23.59 to $35.78 based on experience.

Minimum requirements include 1 year in truck/heavy equipment diagnosis and 12/24V electrical experience, plus skill in hydraulic/electrical schematics. CDL is optional; a DOT medical card is required or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Truck or Heavy Equipment mechanic diagnosis experience.
• 1 year of 12/24 volt electrical experience.
• Ability to understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• 1 year fabrication experience preferred.
• 1 year welding experience preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Waste collection equipment knowledge is a plus.
• Have a DOT (non-CDL) medical card or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
• Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Ability to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders.
• Above all, must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team members.
