Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Service Technician in Lee's Summit, MO, responsible for the on-site installation and maintenance of air compressor equipment. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, along with over 3 years of experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems and working knowledge of Electrical/Electronic Technology.

Qualifications

Job Overview

On‑site installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of air compressor equipment. Requires 2‑4 years plus of experience in the field. Familiar with electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings. Ability to manage time wisely to accomplish required actions quickly and precisely. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision, reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Primary equipment focus is rotary screw and centrifugal compressor technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site installation of compressed air equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order
• Conduct on‑site scheduled planned maintenance
• Provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field service personnel
• Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel
• Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
• Complete and submit field service reports
• Provide training for customers and users on system maintenance
• Provide input for various reports including identifying and isolating unique problems

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years’ experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
• 1+ years of experience with Electrical/Electronic Technology or HVAC with basic knowledge of some or all of the following: AC/DC circuits, wiring diagrams/schematics, motors/controls, PLCs, HVAC electricity, controls, refrigeration systems and/or refrigerant certification.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Core Competencies

• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other basic computer usage. Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) and network basics.

Preferences

• 3+ years’ experience on compressed air systems/centrifugal technologies/solid controls background is a plus. Those with knowledge in the service, diagnosis, and startup of both rotary and centrifugal air compressors, including dryers, cooling towers, and filtration systems are encouraged to apply.
• Military experience and/or sufficient mechanical working experience is a plus.

Pay Range

• The pay range for this role is $49,000-$76,200. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
