The Role

The Marine Technician’s objective is to fix it right the first time by properly identifying problems, determining the cause(s) and providing resolution in a timely and cost-effective manner. In this role, the employee is comfortable working with all types of watercraft, including but not limited to – bowriders, pontoons, deck boats, cruisers, and houseboats.

Main Duties…

  • Provide superior customer service by reading and understanding work orders to perform required repairs
  • Perform mechanical repair work on personal watercraft and other marine vehicles including disassembly, inspection, overhaul and replacement of components
  • Install and repair accessories such as radios, depth finders, electronics, or any other boat components
  • Demonstrate get it right the first time attitude to perform repairs in a timely fashion and provide superior customer satisfaction
  • Examine the unit—including trailer if applicable—to identify and advise on additional services and/or maintenance issues, and notify the Service Manager to communicate requirements to the customer
  • Maintain accurate work order records and documentation for recording time and billing customers.
  • Operate a tractor, forklift and/or hoist to safely position units as required
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including keeping the shop area clean and tools organized.
  • Communicate with other employees, insurance adjusters, warranty advisers, claim representatives, etc. as needed
  • Productively work with the Service Manager to ensure all scheduled jobs are completed on time while maintaining productivity standards and customer satisfaction goals

Compensation…

Budgeted range of $35 – $50/hr. This is a flat rate position, and compensation is based on an hourly bill rate based on experience and certification. Entry level, experienced, and/or certified marine technicians or automobile technicians are encouraged to apply today!

Qualifications…

  • REQUIRED- Minimum 5+ years of working in a marine repair environment
  • Own the tools necessary to complete most routine jobs
  • Strong organizational & creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate a computer for purposes of engine diagnostics
  • Willingness to perform other duties as required that are necessary to support the business
