Harris Golf Cars in Dubuque, IA is seeking an experienced Service Technician with strong electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to join our growing team. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and installing low-voltage electrical systems and accessories on golf cars while also performing mechanical repairs as needed.

The position requires reading wiring diagrams, testing with multimeters, and performing daily service duties in a safe, efficient manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Provide your own tools.
• 2+ years of electrical troubleshooting and repair experience preferred.
• Experience using multimeters and electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience installing low-voltage accessories (sound bars, lighting, displays).
• Mechanical experience with automotive, powersports, or similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on golf cars.
• Install and repair electrical accessories such as sound bars, LED lighting, displays, turn signals, USB ports, stereos, backup cameras, and other equipment.
• Use multimeters and diagnose voltage, continuity, resistance, and faults.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals.
• Test and repair batteries, chargers, controllers, motors, solenoids, wiring harnesses, switches.
• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Tear down and refurbish golf cars.
• Drive company-provided truck and trailer.
• Complete work orders accurately and maintain clean workspace.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on electric and gaspowered golf cars.
• Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical accessories including sound bars, LED lighting, display screens, turn signals, USB ports, stereos, backup cameras, and other custom equipment.
• Use multimeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment to test voltage, continuity, resistance, and identify electrical faults.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical service manuals.
• Test and repair batteries, chargers, controllers, motors, solenoids, wiring harnesses, switches, and related electrical components.
• Perform mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and refurbishments as needed.
• Tear down, assemble, rebuild, and refurbish golf cars.
• Drive a companyprovided truck and trailer as needed.
• Accurately complete work orders and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Provide your own tools.
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems preferred.
• Experience using multimeters and other electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting sound bars, lighting systems, display screens, and other lowvoltage accessories preferred.
• Mechanical experience with automotive, small engines, powersports, forklifts, RVs, or similar equipment preferred.

Physical Demands

Frequently required to use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 85 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Job Details

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Service Manager

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour, plus a $500 bonus at 6 months and another $500 at 1 year (less applicable taxes)

Expected Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (may change seasonally
