Job summary

ITT Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Manual Machinist to support our Cullman PRO Services shop in Cullman, AL.

This role focuses on machining replacement parts and upgrading pumps and rotating equipment, leveraging decades of pump design knowledge to reduce total cost of ownership for customers. Ideal candidates will read and interpret blueprints, set up and operate a range of manual machines, and maintain precise tolerances while collaborating with service teams and clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 10+ years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and pump drawings; interpret tolerances.
• Experience setting up and operating various manual machine tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse client groups.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation abilities; self-starter attitude.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Measure and mark dimensions on material; select and align fixtures and tools.
• Operate mills, lathes, vertical turret lathe, and boring mills to fabricate parts.
• Verify dimensions and alignment; install machined parts and test equipment operation.
• Develop part specifications from general descriptions; sketch parts as needed.
• Maintain safety and quality standards; document processes and results.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Manual Machinist to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade business in our Cullman PRO Services shop located in C ullman, Al . Building on centuries of pump design experience, PRO Services provides an array of services focuses on reducing equipment total cost of ownership and increasing plant output, including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance contracts, field service, engineered upgrades, inventory management, and overhauls for pumps and other rotating equipment.

May Include

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements, may need assistance.


• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.


• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, vertical turret lathe, horizontal boring mill , tool post grinder, and drill press .


• Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.


• Installs machined replacement parts in equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality.


• Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.

• Applies appropriate machining processes to manufacture parts specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or charts
