About The Opportunity

The Service Technician 1 performs service activation and installation of the Ting fiber network, including construction elements such as conduit, fiber, split enclosures, cabinets, and utility locating. This role is based out of Memphis, TN, and involves engaging with the community while prioritizing safety and customer experience.

Job Duties

1. Perform general installation of fiber network, including connecting, disconnecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining the fiber network.
2. Engage directly with customers at installation sites to ensure timely and efficient activation and connectivity.
3. Complete installations using various tactics, including optimal utility placements.
4. Perform fiber drops on-site from handhole to house under supervision.
5. Understand mainline and drop-blowing processes and assist teams accordingly.
6. Understand basic data center concepts and components.
7. Perform troubleshooting to identify connectivity issues from home to handhole.
8. Build splice and express domes with supervision.
9. Test conduit continuity and light levels to ensure proper installation and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
10. Repair the network as needed, including troubleshooting at NID, home, or handhold.
11. Understand utility locates.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to participate in on-call rotations
• Ability to work in confined spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work on ladders or bucket trucks up to 35’
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely
• Proficiency with platforms and applications like ServiceMax, Bob, Deputy
• Adherence to safety training and practices

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
