Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Service Technician at Wisconsin Body & Hoist located in Chippewa Falls, WI. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing specialized equipment and accessories on truck. This role involves working on various truck types, such as commercial trucks, service vehicles, and utility trucks, to customize them for specific purposes. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and mount specialized equipment and accessories on trucks, including but not limited to lift gates, utility bodies, toolboxes, and plows.
• Customize trucks based on customer specifications and industry requirements.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on installed equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions or breakdowns in specialized truck equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Document parts used, labor hours, and any other relevant information.
• Communicate with customers to understand their requirements and provide professional advice.
• Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of specialized truck equipment.
• Maintain a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with other team members.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on experience in equipment installation, maintenance and repair
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Experience in the automotive or heavy equipment industry is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
