Job summary

Superior Plus Propane in Ashland, VA is seeking an experienced Service Technician to perform propane service, tank installations, and maintenance at customer sites. The role involves responding to emergencies, on-call rotations during evenings and weekends, and cross-training for bobtail deliveries.

You should have 2–3 years of propane/oil service experience, with a High School Diploma and preferably a CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years propane/oil service experience preferred; HVAC knowledge is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform propane service and tank installation.
• Identify and fix leaks from tank to equipment connections.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed.
• Rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends.
• Inspect and prepare spare tanks for service.
• Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer sites.
• Cross-train to assist with bobtail truck deliveries.
• Maintain proactive communication with service and field team.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Service Technician to join the team at the Ashland, VA customer service center. Superior Plus Propane is a premier propane company with exceptional employees who look out for one another's safety. What you’ll do:

• Propane service and tank installation.
• Able to identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed
• Rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends as needed
• Perform tank maintenance spare tanks located in the plants in preparation for putting them in service.
• Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations.
• Will be cross trained to assist with bobtail truck propane deliveries as needed
• Consistently communicate proactively with the Service Manager, CSC Manager, Dispatcher, Sales reps, drivers, and customers as necessary

What you bring:

• 2-3 years propane/oil service preferred; HVAC
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• CDL with Hazmat/ Tanker endorsement preferred

The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
