Scott’s Fencing Co. in Albuquerque is seeking a Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair automated gate and access control systems for residential and commercial customers. This hands‑on role blends mechanical work with basic electrical troubleshooting and customer interaction.

Training is available for the right candidate with mechanical ability and a willingness to learn our systems. The position offers hourly pay of $20–$25, year‑round employment, health insurance, PTO, and paid

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and basic testing equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical or low‑voltage systems.
• Ability to read or learn to read basic wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical work.

Responsibilities

• Perform service calls and installation work at residential and commercial properties.
• Install and maintain automated gate operators, access control equipment, and related components.
• Inspect equipment and identify mechanical, electrical, and low‑voltage problems.
• Trace wiring and circuits to locate faults and determine repairs.
• Run conduit, pull wire, and make low‑voltage connections.
• Dig, trench, and set posts for new installations.
• Adjust, test, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Complete final testing and inspection before leaving a job site.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project team.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Document completed work and communicate additional service needs.

Scott’s Fencing Co. is looking for a Service Technician to join our Albuquerque-area
team. This position works in the field installing, maintaining, and repairing automated
gate and access control systems for residential and commercial customers.
This is a hands-on position that combines mechanical work, basic electrical
troubleshooting, equipment installation, and customer interaction. Previous experience
with automated gates is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who has
mechanical ability, understands basic electrical concepts, and is willing to learn our
systems.
