Job summary

SPATCO in Florida is seeking a service tech trainee. This entry-level role offers comprehensive training, paid lodging and meals during training, and advancement opportunities as you learn to maintain and troubleshoot dispensing equipment and POS systems.

Expect a busy schedule with 40+ hours weekly and future on-call rotation after training. Responsibilities include field service calls, paperwork, dispatcher coordination, and clear customer communication.

Qualifications

• Valid State Issued Driver’s License and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for customers at various sites.
• Complete all service call paperwork after each call.
• Communicate with service dispatcher and manager.
• Explain technical issues in non-technical terms to customers.
• Troubleshoot and repair dispensing units and POS systems.
• Install, program and test petroleum equipment and perform scheduled maintenance.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required.

Job description

Our service tech trainee position is an entry level position which will provide you with the training to advance your career. As a technician you will be trained and certified to do routine maintenance and troubleshooting on our customers’ equipment. In this position you will be required to attend training sessions which maybe outside of the area you live in. The training, lodging and meals are all paid for by the company.

The hours for this position may vary but you will work at least 40 hours a week. And there is overtime. Most calls are completed during day shift, however after training you will be put on an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for our customers. This could be at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
• Complete all service call paperwork after each call
• Communicate with your service dispatcher and manager
• Explain technical issues in a non-technical manner to the customer
• Troubleshoot and repairs gasoline dispensing units (such as: Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, and Bennett) and POS (Point-of-Sale) Systems (such as: VeriFone, Gilbarco and NCR).
• Install, program and tests new petroleum equipment and perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance to fueling systems.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required.

Experience, Competencies and Education
