Job summary

SPATCO is seeking an entry-level service tech trainee who will receive comprehensive training to diagnose, maintain, and repair fueling equipment and POS systems. The role includes hands-on field work at customer sites and paid training, lodging, and meals provided by the company.

Hours vary with at least 40 hours per week and overtime; after training, an on-call rotation will apply. Daily travel and outdoor work are required, with lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid State Issued Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Pass a drug screen & background check.
• Daily local travel.
• Lifting 50-75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for customers at various locations (retail gas stations, commercial sites, hospitals, travel stops, government facilities).
• Complete all service call paperwork after each call.
• Communicate with service dispatcher and manager.
• Explain technical issues in non-technical terms to customers.
• Troubleshoot and repair petroleum equipment and POS systems (Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, Bennett, VeriFone, NCR).
• Install, program and test new petroleum equipment; perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required.

Ourservice tech trainee positionis an entry level position which will provide you with the training to advance your career. As a technician you will be trained and certified to do routine maintenance and troubleshooting on our customers’ equipment. In this position you will be required to attend training sessions which maybe outside of the area you live in. The training, lodging and meals are all paid for by the company.

The hours for this position may vary but you will work at least 40 hours a week. And there is overtime. Most calls are completed during day shift, however after training you will be put on an on-call rotation.

• Complete petroleum service calls for our customers. This could be at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
