Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and repair flooring equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will perform checks, report issues, demonstrate equipment to customers, and assist with pickups and deliveries in a customer-focused role.

The position offers opportunities for advancement within the Service Department, requiring a high school diploma, a valid license, and strong mechanical and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including tools relevant to the role.
• Superior customer service and teamwork with good verbal/written communication.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.
• This is a Safety Sensitive position per company policy.

• Report machine condition to management.
• Perform repairs including checking electrical continuity and wiring faults.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.

As a Service Technician at United Rentals supporting our Flooring and Facilities Solutions Division, you will use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. What you'll do:

• Perform maintenance checks on rental flooring equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Perform repairs of rental flooring equipment as needed, including checking electrical continuity, wiring faults and tagging of equipment for rental ready status
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Basic knowledge of electrical equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
